A man whose life has been a testament to resilience, sacrifice, and an unwavering belief in a better Kenya.

I’ve voted for Baba in every election since I came of age. Not because it was trendy, not because it was easy — but because it was right. Because every time he stood up to be counted, he carried with him the hopes of a nation yearning for justice, equity, and transformation. His journey has been marked by trials, triumphs, and tireless advocacy for democracy. And through it all, he remained grounded, accessible, and deeply connected to the people.

Meeting him in person during ICPAK’s 42nd Annual Seminar at Sarova Whitesands, Mombasa in May 2025 was more than just a photo opportunity. It was a moment of reflection — a chance to stand beside a man whose ideals have shaped my own civic journey. In that moment, I saw not just a political figure, but a mentor, a visionary, and a father of the nation in every sense of the word.

Baba’s legacy is not just in the speeches he gave or the offices he held. It’s in the courage he inspired in young voters, the hope he rekindled in marginalized communities, and the fire he lit in the hearts of those who believe that Kenya can — and must — rise above division and despair.
